The name

The copyboy carried every story by hand from writer to desk. Copyboy carries the evidence: what’s backed, what’s missing, and what’s unclear.

How it works
01

Install.

Add Copyboy to Gmail or Outlook.

02

See the label.

New pitches get a label showing how likely each one is to be AI-written, as a confidence percentage. Emails under 150 words are marked “Too short to check.”

03

Check what’s left.

For pitches worth reading, each claim is marked Backed, Missing proof, or Unclear, and the email gets a proof score out of 100.

Mode: Automatic by default. Switch to On selection at any time.

Privacy

We never store your emails.

Copyboy is set to Automatic by default. It checks each email as you open it, with no click needed, and sends the email’s subject and text securely to Copyboy’s server for checking. In Gmail, it also checks new inbox emails from the last two days about once an hour, including ones you haven’t opened. In Outlook, it checks only the emails you open while the Copyboy pane is pinned. Prefer to choose? Switch to On selection at any time, and Copyboy checks only the emails you pick. For the AI check, emails of 150 words or more are also sent to our AI-detection provider, Sapling, with its zero-retention setting on. Shorter emails are marked “Too short to check.” Copyboy never stores or logs the text of your emails. We keep only scores, for up to 24 hours, and your “Was this right?” answers.

Why trust it

Every verdict shows its source, or notes that we found none. When we’re unsure, it says Unclear. Copyboy carries the evidence, and the judgment stays with you.
